Handling of personal data
Personal data refers to information that can be used to identify an individual, i.e. statements that can be traced back to that individual. This includes their name, email address or telephone number. SENSEUP GMBH only collects, uses and passes on personal data if this is legally permissible or the users concerned give their consent for the data to be collected. When making contact with SENSEUP GMBH (e.g. by email or the contact form on our website), the user’s statements are stored for the purpose of processing the request and in order to answer any subsequent questions.
Information collected by E-mail
If you send us an e-mail, we will collect your e-mail address and the contents of your message. We will use your e-mail address and the information included in your message to respond to you, to address the issues you identify, and to improve this web site. We may also use your e-mail address to notify you about updates and services offered by us. If you would prefer not to receive e-mail or other communications from us, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
A cookie is information that a website stores on your computer so that it can remember something about you at a later time. Cookies are commonly used on the internet and do not harm your system. They are stored on the users’ devices during and/or after users visit a website. “Temporary cookies”, “session cookies”, or “transient cookies” are cookies that are deleted after users leave a site and close their browsers. However, other cookies are referred to as “permanent” or “persistent” and remain stored even after the browser is closed. “Third-party cookies” are cookies that are offered by the original providers (who operate the website) to other parties. (If the original provider is the one using the cookies, they are often called “first-party cookies”). First party and third party cookies are currently used on the SENSEUP GMBH website. They do not include any information that others could read and understand about you, and will be used primarily to improve the use of this site and for your own browsing convenience.
Access data/server log files
We have access to the log analysis tool AWStats and ReportMagic through WordPress. AWStats and ReportMagic evaluate log files that web servers create based on visitor queries. AWStats is server resident, does not use cookie files for its analysis and collects anonymous data. The statistical analysis is carried out via the log files, which also contain IP addresses. The IP addresses are shortened so as to make it impossible to relate them to an individual person. There is no linking of this data to other data sources. AWStats allows us to track how popular our site is and to record visitor trends over time. We have access to data which includes the Internet Protocol address and domain name of your Internet Service Provider, the type of browser and operating system used; the date and time our website was visited, the web pages or services accessed and amount of time spent at each page; and the web page from which our website was accessed and from which any page on this site was linked.
Our Hetzner hosting server uses error logger, traffic logger und disk space logger and automatically stores certain data, including your IP address, type and version of the browser you use, time, date, website from which you come to our site. Your IP address is saved for 7 days and then anonymized. You can then no longer be identified. The legal basis for this data process is Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR.

Social media data
Our website also uses so-called Social Plugins (“Plugins”) from Instagram, which is operated by Instagram LLC, 1601 Willow Road, Menlo Park, CA 94025, USA (“Instagram”). The plug-ins are marked with an Instagram logo, for example in the form of an “Instagram camera”. When you access a page of our website that contains such a plugin, your browser establishes a direct connection to Instagram’s servers. Instagram transfers the content of the plugin directly to your browser and integrates it into the page. This integration informs Instagram that your browser has called up the corresponding page of our website, even if you do not have an Instagram profile or are not currently logged in to Instagram. This information (including your IP address) is transmitted directly from your browser to an Instagram server in the USA and stored there. If you are logged in to Instagram, Instagram can immediately associate your visit to our website with your Instagram account. If you interact with the plugins, for example by pressing the “Instagram” button, this information is also transmitted directly to an Instagram server and stored there. The information is also published on your Instagram account and displayed to your contacts. If you do not want Instagram to associate the information collected through our website directly with your Instagram account, you must log out of Instagram before visiting our website.
Our website uses functions of the LinkedIn network. The provider is LinkedIn Corporation, 2029 Stierlin Court, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Every time you visit one of our pages that contains functions of LinkedIn, a connection to LinkedIn’s servers is established. LinkedIn is informed that you have visited our website with your IP address. If you click on the “Recommend button” of LinkedIn and are logged into your LinkedIn account, LinkedIn is able to associate your visit to our website with you and your user account. We point out that we as provider of the pages have no knowledge of the content of the transmitted data and their use by LinkedIn.
This page uses the map service Google Maps via an API. The provider is Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. To use the functions of Google Maps it is necessary to save your IP address. This information is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. The provider of this site has no influence on this data transmission. The use of Google Maps is in the interest of an appealing representation of our online offers and at an easy findability of the places indicated by us on the website. This represents a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO.
You can find more information on the handling of user data in Google’s data protection declaration: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy/.
It may happen that third party content, such as videos from YouTube, maps from Google Maps, RSS feeds or graphics from other websites are integrated. This always presupposes that the providers of this content (hereinafter referred to as “third party providers”) perceive the IP address of the users, because without the IP address, they would not be able to send the content to the browser of the respective user. The IP address is therefore required for the display of this content. We endeavour to use only those contents whose respective providers use the IP address only for the delivery of the contents. However, we have no influence on this if the third party providers store the IP address, e.g. for statistical purposes. As far as we know, we inform the users about this.
Revocation, modifications, reports and updates
On request, the user has the right to be informed free of charge about any personal data that may have been stored. The user also has the right to have incorrect data corrected and personal data blocked and deleted, provided this is not ruled out by a statutory obligation to retain data.

SENSEUP GMBH has implemented generally accepted standards of technology and operational security in order to protect personally identifiable information from loss, misuse, alteration, or destruction. Only authorised SENSEUP GMBH personnel are provided access to personally identifiable information, and these employees are required to treat this information as confidential. Despite these precautions, SENSEUP GMBH cannot guarantee that unauthorised persons will not obtain access to your personally identifiable information. Unfortunately, no data transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.
